How To Know if God is Pleased with You

blind man by zoetnet

Today’s reading is John 9.

The disciples simply couldn’t understand why the man had been born blind; did it show God’s disapproval of the man or his parents? But Jesus explains something that is hard for us to grasp. He explained that this man’s hardship didn’t actually say anything about God’s approval or disapproval of anyone. We must learn that bad circumstances do not mean God is opposed to us. In like manner, good circumstances do not mean He is pleased with us. The circumstances themselves simply aren’t a sign from God about our relationship with Him. God’s Word is that sign. If you want to know if God is pleased with you, open His book, devour its teaching, surrender to God’s will. He will be pleased with you no matter your circumstances.

Tomorrow’s reading is John 10.

A Word for Our Kids

Hey kids, Jesus had healed a man blind from birth, giving him sight. But the Pharisees continued to repudiate Jesus and cast out the man who had been healed by Him. Once again, this just goes to show that when folks do not want to believe, any excuse will do. May I encourage you now to draw close to Jesus and even if it causes you as you grow to get cast out like the healed man, follow Jesus anyway.
